Self Reflection of Our Project ! by Shu Ying

Planning Phase
I was in the logistics department for the visit to Home for The Angels. I was responsible for allocating transportation of our team to Home for The Angels, preparing food for our team members and the children in Home for The Angels. After we were arranged in groups and knew our own members, we had meetings to decide what place to visit. After setting Home for The Angels as our destination, Myra, Li Xin and I who were in the logistics department did some surveys and calculation to sort out the cheapest transportation plan within our budget. We decided to take MRT from the University of Malaya to Kajang, and then take GrabCar to reach there. However, due to the sudden change of the examination date, we needed to separate into two groups and one of the groups who will depart late.

 Current Stage
I and another 4 members reached Home for The Angels late due to the examination on that day. Fortunately, one of us, Li Xin drives to fetch us there to avoid budget constraint. During the three days of the visit, I helped the chef in Home for The Angels to cleanse the ingredients for preparing meals for the children. I assisted the chef to prepare the sesame buns. We made sure the kitchen and dining area were clean after dining.

I accompanied the children to watch cartoon movies. I was excited when two little girls surrounded me and braiding my hair.


Initially, I thought it is hard for me to eat only vegetables without meat for three days. But things turned out of my expectation, the food was so good and I did not even feel hungry in the three days.
 Ending Phase
Through this social engagement, I was inspired a lot. I learned to be more appreciative and grateful for everything I have. I learned to put myself into other’s shoes and try to understand their circumstances and give assistance to the needy people. I sincerely hope that those angels can grow up to be more mature and face obstacles in their life boldly. Hopefully, they can have faith in themselves like other ordinary children do, and not feeling guilty because of their background.

Name: Annalisa Patrick No. Matrics: CIB 180008 Position: Secretary Planning Phase During this stage, obviously we barely know each other yet.  Some of us recognise each other because currently joining the same project with different department, some of us passed each other before at faculty and some never even met.  The ice between our member at first is really thick and we never have a complete attendance during meetings yet.
