Self Reflection of Our Project ! by Farid Zamri

 Planning Phase
Social engagement course has taught me many lessons in terms of physically and spiritually. For information, this is my first time joining or doing a group activity that involved with the society. Before the activity is conduct each members of the group including me have to make some preparation to make all the activity that will be conduct run smoothly. As for me, on the planning phase despite on my lack of experience I have been given a simple task by my group leader. We all make many meetings and discussing regarding with the activity since end of last year. Since the leader knows my difficulty she only gives me the appropriate task by appoint me as a Programme and Protocol.

 Current Stage
On the day, I was the second group which depart from University Malaya in the evening. Among all members in the second group I was the only one man in the group. We go there by car. The placed that we want to visit is at Homes For The Angels, Semenyih. Since I arrived there on late night, I only get to experience the place for two days. On my first day, we all followed the activity that have been set up by the place. We go for a hiking with all the children or students. Along the activity one thing that catch my attention is the willingness of the kids to hike the hill eventhough it was challenging activity.


 Next, after done all the activity we are invited to join them on lunch. This placed only served a vegetarian food and I also need to experience that. All of my initial expectation regarding with the vegetarian food was wrong, despite vegetarian food was not so bad in my opinion. Then, me and my friend is given a task which is to clean the toilet and the surroundings area.

                                                         

On the afternoon, I’m also given the chance to see how the process of making “Pau” is conducted and able to help them a little bit. After taking some rest, we also spent time together with the children in their library downstairs. Some of them is playing the games that is conducted by our members and others are reading books. The interaction between me and the children a little bit difficult because many of them only know to communicate in Mandarin. But, a few of them are able to speak in Malay and English language.

 Ending PhaseLastly, what I get after coming back from this activity is being  grateful human being. Seeing the situation that the children facing makes me become more grateful person, because most children that were sent there are comes from different background. Some of them are orphans, a few are facing family problem and many more. But they still can smile and feel the happiness of the lives. I hope in future I can join the activity regarding with the social or involving society because I believe I will get or expose with more valuable or crucial lessons that will established me to become a better person.

Self Reflection of Our Project ! by Annalisa Patrick

Name: Annalisa Patrick No. Matrics: CIB 180008 Position: Secretary Planning Phase During this stage, obviously we barely know each other yet.  Some of us recognise each other because currently joining the same project with different department, some of us passed each other before at faculty and some never even met.  The ice between our member at first is really thick and we never have a complete attendance during meetings yet. Not to deny that I am worry if I am putted in a wrong group but have to continue with it as I have no choice or maybe the issue wasn’t that serious for me to change group yet.  Fortunately, as time flies, I begin to realise that I am actually in the right group plus with the great guidance from our Leader Lei Yee to make sure that we always meet any documents submission dateline.
